Changed Plans

I have all these half written posts that I never got round to finishing, and now I'm taking off. I'll figure something out, do a mash-up of half posts and change to the past tense. Or I won't. I don't know.

So anyway, changed plans? I am going to NYC. I know, I know, a completely different thing to do. Why? Well for starters I'm hungry, and I don't function well on hungry. But also, it just wasn't really what I wanted to do. I know it's basically blasphemy, but I am not a working-with-kids person. Sure the kinder kids may in fact be the cutest little people in the world, but I don't think I am cut out for working with them. There were lots of projects that interested me on the horizon, but I don't have the patience to wait for them nor patience for the concept of time in Arequipa (which I'm told is just South America for you, but having only been in the one spot I don't think I am in a position to say that). I think I am in love with Arequipa, it felt like home straight away, or maybe that is also why I was ready to move on.

Oh yes, and my sister, BIL and Mum being in NYC may have had something to do with it. I don't like fun to be had without me.

So NYC and then - well obviously I can't be trusted to keep to my plans - but then Central America, somewhere with lots of sun and water, more Spanish lessons, maybe other volunteering. Sounds good, yeah?

Anyway, I am in the middle of eating my way through Lima (more on that later) and better get ready for the next round. Breakfast, tour, lunch, markets, cooking.
